What a month itās been! In this issue, weāre sharing whatās nextāstate convention news, a special fundraiser, and opportunities to stay connected. Letās keep the momentum going as we stay rooted to rise! A special thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out at the 116th NAACP National Convention in North Carolina.
We are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our State Conference, its branches, and leaders who were honored at the 116th NAACP National Convention. The State Conference, along with the NYCHA, Mid-Manhattan, New York, and Jamaica-Queens branches, all took home awards.

A special congratulations to President L. Joy Williams and Youth for being voted region 2 representative on the national board of directors of the NAACP. Please join us in celebrating these leaders for their commitment to excellence and their contributions to our mission.

This monthās NAACP Monthly Briefing will focus on our education priorities and how communities can shape their own educational standards and experiences. Hosted by our Education Chair, Christine Waters, the conversation will share resources, tips, and community support for families as students return to the classroom.

This yearās National Convention brought branches together under the powerful theme, āThe Fierce Urgency of Now.ā Members from across the country gathered to learn, connect, and recharge our collective commitment to justice and equity.
Our National President, Derrick Johnson, delivered a clear and compelling message: āThis is our time. This is our moment, this is our movement.ā The time for action is now, the challenges we face demand immediate, unified efforts. Together, we left the convention with renewed energy and a shared charge to push forward in advocacy, policy, and community impact.
